Marmorpalais

Built by Carl von Gontard and Carl Gotthard Langhans, the Marmorpalais was the private summer residence of Friedrich Wilhelm II. It was completed in 1793, but was further expanded in 1797, the year of Friedrich Wilhelm II's death.

During the 19th Century the palace served as the summer residence of the future Emperor Wilhelm II and then Prince William while he waited for the completion of Schloss Cecilienhof. After 1945 the building was used as a casino for Red Army officers, and then as a war museum. In recent years it has been restored to its former glory.
