(Dutch Quarter)
Mittelstrasse / Benkertstrasse

Postdam's Dutch quarter consists of 134 red-brick houses built in the Dutch style between 1733 & 1740 by Johann Boumann. They were built in an attempt to persuade badly needed Dutch craftsmen to move to the town, but the plan was only partly successful.
Restricted to just four blocks, the Hollaendisches Viertel is now a flourishing collection of homes, small shops, cafés and galleries. Once a year it is also home of the Potsdam Tulip Festival.
