Krongut Bornstedt

Acquired by Friedrich Wilhelm IV in 1841, the original manor house was rebuilt by Johann Heinrich Haeberlin between 1846 & 1848 in the style of an Italian villa.

In 1867, Crown Prince Friedrich Wilhelm and his English wife Victoria (daughter of Queen Victoria) took over the estate. They ran it as a model dairy and poultry farm, enjoying the "simple" life.
