The small church of "Heiligen Alexander Newski" was designed by Wassili P. Stassow, based on the Desjatin Church in Kiev. The interior was designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel.

The church was built in 1829 in memory of Tsar Alexander I and to serve residents of the nearby Alexandrowka Russian Colony.
