(Church of Peace)
Allee nach Sanssouci

Modelled on the early Christian church of San Clemente in Rome, the Friedenskirche was commissioned by Frederick William IV. The original designs were by Ludwig Persius, with later work by Ferdinand von Arnim and Ludwig Ferdinand Hesse. Construction lasted nine years (1845 - 1854).
The complex features colonades, courtyard gardens and a high bell tower. The landscaping around the church was designed by Peter Joseph Lenné.
