(Belvedere on the Klausberg)
Maulbeerallee

Frederick the Great's last architectural work in Park Sanssouci. Built by architect Georg Christian Unger between 1770 & 1772, it was modelled on a section of Nero's palace in Rome. The building's sole purpose was to allow the enjoyment of the views across Potsdam from the Klausberg.
In the last days of WW2 the Belvedere was targeted by Russian artillery and was completely burnt out. After years as a ruin, it has now been restored to its former glory.
